10 years SUBSTANCE Recordstore - congratzzzzz!

couple of years ago - mid nineties we bought our records in an apartment in 2oth district - it was the apartment of konstantin. around the year 2000 konstantin, alfi and gepi established a recordshop with lots of vinyl, shirts, books, and their own substance beer.

this week substance crew celebrates their 10th anniversary: substance recordstore GALORE!

chra, CHERRY SUNKIST and CRAZY BITCH IN A CAVE arrived back home yesterday after some days/nights full of intense shows and fun.

travelling by bus and train with heavy lugage is always a challenge. we met some nice places, old friends made new ones and had a in general a good time.


during a day off on wednesday last week in berlin CHERRY SUNKIST and chra spent the afternoon walking through berlin putting up posters and stickers for the AUSLAND show.

AUSLAND was very nice. some friends showed up and jasmine guffond also known as JASMINA MASCHINA was doing our sound.

early next morning we travelled from berlin to salzburg.

comfortzone tour fall 2011 - update part I

we started our little label tour last saturday in nuernberg - invited by orchid. having a very nice party.
after a rainy and middle long ride (the fuck lets go away from bayreuth) we arrived in berlin last evening. the busride was like being in a german comedy movie from the 50ies - lots of people over 60 laughing and telling stupid jokes, and a very chatty busdriver - ufff.
now we are looking forward to play - cherry sunkist & chra - at madame claude tuesday night.

Mit ihrem aktuellen Album „Projection Screens“(comfortzone) generiert Cherry Sunkist aka Karin Fisslthaler eine sonische Wunderkammer zwischen radikal bearbeiteten Noise-Gitarren, bösen Drones, elektronische Stolperbeats, harschen Brüchen und faszinierend unheimlichen (Geister)Gesängen. In Kategorien lässt sich die Musik der queer-feministischen Künstlerin sowieso nicht stecken. Die in Wien und Linz lebende Salzburgerin stellt viel eher Fragen nach der Konstruiertheit von Kategorien. Egal ob es sich hierbei um Musik, Körper oder Geschlechtszuschreibungen handelt. Das mag kompliziert und komplex klingen (und ist es auch), jedoch stellt „Projection Screens“ auch eine diskursive Destruktion dessen dar, was gemeinhin unter „Pop“ verstanden wird.
